Temporary Menu & Building Work
We are currently refurbishing our kitchen & making alterations to part of the cafe. Due to this we are offering a reduced menu in August. The full breakfast menu will be offered as normal, but served until 12pm instead of all day. Lunch will be served from 12pm-3pm. The Potting Shed Cafe
Set within a converted barn with views over a beautifully landscaped garden and open countryside, the award winning Potting Shed Café is one of the most picturesque venues to eat in Hertfordshire. On warm sunny days you can dine outside on our sheltered patio, or with the bi-fold doors folded back, enjoy the summer breeze gently blowing into the café.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, so you can relax and enjoy a well-earned drink and slice of cake after a walk around Heartwood Forest situated less than a mile down the road.
We offer a range of popular breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, as well as seasonal specials made with our own grown and locally sourced ingredients. All dishes are made fresh to order, with a great choice for Vegans, Vegetarians and Gluten-free diners.

(Please note that we don't take bookings for breakfast). If you are just looking to visit for tea & coffee you don't need to book, but please be aware that there maybe a 5-10 minute wait for a table during lunch service (11.45am- 2.30pm) when we can be very busy.
Last orders for breakfast is 11.45am. Brunch & lunch orders are taken until 3pm. Last orders for drinks are taken at 4pm and we close at 4.30pm.
